Zoom!™ Whitening

Zoom! WhiteningThe Zoom! in-office whitening system is the most advanced teeth whitening system available today. It uses a combination of light-activated bleach that is heated with the Zoom! Whitening Lamp to lighten stains on teeth by several shades. This treatment offers patients a safe, quick, and convenient way to brighten teeth in just one hour.

Veneers

Most patients think they can never attain a set of perfectly aligned teeth, at least not without wearing awkward silver braces. Veneers offer a faster solution, allowing patients to have straight teeth in as little as one appointment. Masking chips, stains, and crooked teeth, veneers are applied to the teeth, and then custom-shaped and colored to achieve a natural, even appearance.

Inlay/Onlays

Tooth-colored inlays and onlays may be recommended when there is not enough tooth to hold a filling, but a crown is not necessary for support of the tooth. Inlays and onlays are bonded to the tooth and have almost the same strength as real teeth.

Composite Fillings

Unlike the silver fillings of the past, modern, tooth-colored fillings allow cavities and dental work to go virtually unnoticed by others. Composite fillings are bonded to the teeth, providing a durable, more natural-looking effect.

Porcelain Crowns

Crowns are tooth-colored caps that cover each tooth in need of treatment, hiding flaws and providing strength to damaged teeth. Porcelain crowns are used at our practice, offering long-lasting support and minimizing pain to injured teeth. A crown can also be recommended for cosmetic reasons, to conceal stained, cracked, or chipped teeth.

Laser Gum Contouring

Laser gum shaping is a treatment that can be used on patients with an asymmetrical gum line, gummy smile, or poor contouring. Using supreme artistic skill, our dentists can reshape the gum line for an esthetic improvement in the framing of your teeth.

Restoration Dentistry

Implant Dentistry

Dental implants provide our patients with a permanent solution to teeth that are missing. The outcome is improved cosmetic results, as well as comfort. To find out if you would be a good candidate for dental implants, schedule an appointment today at one of our two locations: La Cumbre Dental Care or Johnson Family Dental.

Mini Dental Implants

Loose and ill-fitting dentures can result in extreme discomfort for patients wearing prosthetics. Additionally, food trapped under these devices can emit a foul odor. With mini dental implants, we can tighten dentures so they fit snugly into four implants in the jaw. This results in a comfortable fit, stable bite, and patients can learn to snap dentures in and out of the mouth for easy cleaning.

Oral Surgery

Oral surgery can encompass a range of procedures, including dental implants, bridgework, TMJ treatment, injuries, wisdom teeth removal and other extractions. Our oral surgeons are skilled in a variety of the most comprehensive surgery techniques, and can recommend the proper course of treatment to help you achieve a gorgeous smile.

Periodontal Treatment

Periodontal Disease

Periodontal disease is caused by the build up of bacteria under the gums. Resulting in inflammation in its early stages, the disease can lead to damage in the bones and ligaments around the teeth if left untreated. Eventually forming pockets that surround the teeth, they can become loose and fall out.

Root Canal Therapy

When the tissues of the teeth have been damaged beyond repair, a root canal treatment may save the tooth. This procedure is generally completed in two stages, beginning with the dentist cleaning out the infected area of the tooth. It is then sealed off with cement or a crown to protect and strengthen the tooth.

Bone Augmentation

Deterioration to the periodontal bone because of gum disease can progress to a point that patients no longer have the option of wearing dental implants or dentures. Bone augmentation can preserve the volume of the bone so functional and cosmetic treatments can be performed at a later time.

Arestin®

The formation of infected pockets in patients with periodontal disease can pose serious dangers to teeth. To avoid losing teeth to this condition, we can clean out injured teeth and administer antibiotics to the pockets. Arestin® is a treatment that reduces the size of pockets and prevents the disease from worsening through the controlled release of antibiotics to infected areas. When Arestin® is used in conjunction with scaling and root planing it is more effective at fighting the disease.

General Dentistry

At La Cumbre Dental Care and Johnson Family Dental, we can also address all of patients general dentistry needs through regular cleanings. We offer complimentary complete exams and digital X-Rays to help our patients enjoy a level of oral health they never thought possible. We also provide the latest technologies in dentistry at our practice, including:

Waterlase®

Many of the worst memories associated with the dentist is the high-pitched shrill of the drill as it painfully does its work. Eliminating the need for needles and drills, the Waterlase® is a state-of-the-art tool that combines laser energy with specially formulated water. Used for the removal of tooth decay, diseased gum tissue, and enamel, to prepare for cosmetic treatments, and for soft tissue procedures, the Waterlase® can keep your mouth healthy in comfort.

DEXIS® Digital X-Rays

When we take digital X-Rays of your teeth, a camera is inserted into your mouth and the X-Rays are transferred to our computer screen where they can be viewed by the patient. Digital X-rays not only allow you to be more aware of your dental health, they reduce exposure to radiation by 90 percent.

Intraoral Camera

One of the most advanced diagnostic tools available in dentistry, the intraoral camera allows us to distinguish problems that need to be addressed. The system works by recording pictures of your mouth that are transmitted to a computer screen. The data is more accurate and problems in the mouth are clearly visible.

Facts about Sedation Dentistry

  • It is absolutely safe. Dr. Johnson will give you a small pill to take one hour prior to treatment. If you choose, he can give more pills once you get to the office to get the desired sedation effect. But Dr. Johnson has found after several years of sedation dentistry, that I.V. Sedation is easier than and just as safe as oral sedation.
  • Not all dentists can provide I.V. sedation but Dr Johnson and his associate are certified in conscious sedation and have the help of a licensed ambulatory anesthesiologist with special training in advanced cardiac life support, EKG, pulse oximeter and blood pressure monitoring.
  • Most patients report having little or no memory of the experience, including sounds or smells.
  • Complex or time-consuming treatments that often require many appointments can be done in as little as one appointment thereby reducing the fatigue of extended dental treatments.
  • People who have difficulty getting numb will find that sedation dentistry eliminates this problem.
